Dr. Kenneth A. Kiewra is a professor of educational psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology from Florida State University and was also on the faculty at Kansas State University and Utah State University. Professor Kiewra’s research pertains to learning and to talent development. On the learning side, he has investigated note taking, graphic organizers, and the SOAR learning method he developed. On the talent side, he has investigated: (a) highly productive educational researchers and (b) parents’ roles in talent development. Dr. Kiewra has authored two books for students (Learning to Learn and Learn How to Study and SOAR to Success), one for educators (Teaching How to Learn), and his recent book on talent development (Nurturing Children’s Talents: A Guide for Parents).
