On behalf of the Organising Committee, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 17th Conference of the ECHA - European Council for High Ability.
The conference has, for reasons we all are aware of, been postponed and will now take place from 31 August to 3 September 2021, in Porto, Portugal. The organisers are APCS - Portuguese Association for Gifted Children in partnership with the Higher School of Education of Paula Frassinetti.
We will maintain the central conference theme : GIFTS and TALENTS, VALUES for the FUTURE.
This event aims to
- define force lines in the educational policy field,
- promote a higher level of scientific knowledge,
- share innovative action models and to outline new intervention ways,
- enhance, in this field, the combination of educational efforts in the European Union and at world level.
The conference will bring together scientists in this domain of interest from around the world.
Topics of interest for submission include, but are not limited to:
International perspectives of gifted education;
Policy and management for gifted students;
Research into giftedness;
Identification and assessment of giftedness;
Giftedness and inclusion;
Multiple intelligences and dyssynchronies;
Twice and multi exceptional students;
Creativity and innovation in Education;
Designing programmes for gifted students;

Working with gifted students in the classroom;
Gifted students and homeschooling;
Best/Innovative practices for gifted students;
Social and emotional well-being of the gifted;

Case studies - success or failure in school.
This event will offer, as is the tradition, important opportunities for sharing knowledge, innovation, reflection and debate, and will certainly be of great importance at national, European and global levels. We look forward to receive your contribution!
